The contract is two years for $18 million and the second year is a player option, making it the increasingly popular “one-plus-one” deal. Apparently Anthony Davis was all in for this deal , as Wojnarowski also reports that he was a “tenacious” recruiter on the Pelicans’ behalf.
This past season Randall averaged a career-high 16.1 points per game to go along with 8.0 rebounds per contest and he did this on 55.8% from the floor, which was also a career high.
Shoud Randle’s play continue to ascend, the nature of the deal will allow him to opt out and garner what will likely be a much larger payday, especially considering the projected cap jump next summer and more teams will have more money to spend.
